Updated Well-Being Safety and Health Measures – June 19th, 2020

As we re-open for business, we want to ensure the safest possible environment for our valued, loyal clients and staff. Here at Nie Spa and National Institute of Esthetics your comfort, well-being, health and safety are our top priorities. With the public health risk surrounding COVID-19, we are closely monitoring the situation.

Our hearts go out to everyone impacted.

As a teaching facility and Medical Esthetics SPA we have always followed medical protocols for disinfection and disease prevention. Given the current situation, and with guidelines from Public Health Agency of Canada, CDC and WHO. We have intensified our efforts around best practices for virus protection.

There is, and will continue to be, clear and frequent communication with the Nie Spa team to keep them aware of our policy updates, and to follow the Public Health Agency of Canada, CDC and WHO instructions.

Here are the specific steps we’re following to ensure the comfort, well-being, health and safety of our clients, students and staff:

  • Limited number of clients allowed in facility at any given time
  • ALL Clients and staff are required to wear a mask or face covering while in the facility and practice social distancing
  • Our treatment rooms, products, equipment and implements have always been disinfected/sterilized between clients. We are now, additionally, disinfecting all shared surfaces that come into contact with staff, students or clients such as door knobs, bathroom fixtures, reception furniture and tables, as well as front desk, debit/credit machine, phones, computer keyboard, pens and front entrance with an EPA approved hospital grade disinfectant after each contact
  • Linens, towels etc are cleaned and sanitized after every use
  • Robes and gowns are cleaned and sanitized after every use, disposable gowns will be provided if requested
  • Sanitizing supplies, including alcohol-based hand sanitizer are available at multiple stations throughout the facility for use by staff, clients and students
  • Staff and students are required to wear PPE when providing ALL services
  • Beverages will be served in disposable glasses and/or cups only
  • All retail items are kept in closed cabinets and only dispensed by staff members
  • Tester items are only available to be dispensed in individual disposable containers as requested by customers
  • All manicures and pedicure services include a take-home client comfort package, so every person is assured that these disposable implements are fresh and only used on them. Our massaging/ heated SPA pedicure chairs also feature one time use disposable footbath liners and all linens are cleaned and sanitized after every service to further ensure superior  hygiene practices
  • ALL Magazines and reading materials have been removed and Brochures, pamphlets and product information will be given out when requested
  • Any previously purchased packages that included light lunch or snacks will be substituted for a take home gift
  • For the time being, we are discouraging hugs and handshakes and encouraging social distancing, extra time will be booked for clean-up and disinfection between client bookings, to keep us all extra safe

For our Valued Clients:

  • ALL Staff and students will be screened daily for COVID 19 symptoms, including a temperature check before being allowed to enter the facility
  • Every client is required to wear a mask/face covering, sanitize their hands, have their temperature taken and complete a brief questionnaire upon arrival prior to commencing with the service
  • We will be reducing our hours of operations and reducing the number of clients allowed in the facility
  • Listen to your body; if you’re not feeling well, please stay home and seek medical attention if necessary.
  • Take normal, healthy precautions that you would during FLU season. The CDC recommends frequent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers
  • If you are experiencing severe anxiety around the situation try taking a break from the media, and seek reliable information from only trusted sources like the Public Health Agency of Canada, CDC and WHO.

Your comfort, well-being, health and safety are always our number one priority. The steps we are implementing, along with your personal cautiousness, will help Nie Spa and National Institute of Esthetics play our part in keeping our community safe and healthy.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, we are here to help! Thank you for your support and patronage.
